Discussion Concert

Clara Schumann

«Who is this woman who played the piano so well?» As a young student, Ragna Schirmer asked herself this question for the first time over thirty years ago. Song recital

Regula Mühlemann

«Her song seemed as light as breathing, her high notes flowed effortlessly into the room», the Badische Zeitung once wrote about the soprano, who recently made her debut at Carnegie Hall. In February 2023, the Lucerne native brought in a full house with Identité - Lieder der Heimat, and now she returns to Zurich with another recital with pianist Tatiana Korsunskaya. In addition to classics by Schubert and Strauss, she will also perform lesser-known songs by Dominick Argento and Frank Bridge.

Ensemble Opera Nova

Tribute to Schnittke

Alfred Schnittke is a great composer of the 20th century and a fascinating artistic personality. He stood in the tradition of Russian musical modernism, but also worked his way through the forms of the Baroque, Mozart, Schubert and film music. Parallel to his opera Leben mit einem Idioten on the main stage, we are presenting two of his most beautiful, virtuosic and polystylistically fascinating instrumental works at the Opera Nova concert.

The transitional building at Opernhaus Zürich

Schäfer Holzbautechnik is currently erecting a single-storey, pavilion-like wooden structure on the roof of our extension building. This 330 square meter transitional building is intended to temporarily relieve our most urgent space problems. We paid a visit to the Aargau-based company in advance and spoke to project manager Stephan Frey about the realization.
